Virex installs on released versions of Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.x), Panther (10.3.x) and Jaguar (10.2.6 & 10.2.8).
Virex needs the BSD subsystem to be installed in order to function
correctly. The BSD subsystem installs by default as part of Mac OS X.
However, you can choose not to install it. If you installed Mac OS X
without the BSD subsystem, insert the Mac OS X CD and install the BSD
subsystem before continuing.

Virex is one of Iowa State's Site-Licensed software packages.
If you are faculty, staff or a student at Iowa State, you can download
the Virex installer from
here (18 MB).
You will need your Iowa State

|
If you have a previous Virex version installed on you computer, the Virex Installer will over-install the previous version without any warning. If the downloaded disk image wasn't automatically mounted, then double-click on the disk image to mount it. Then double-click the Virex.pkg file to run the installer.
After installing Virex 7.7, you should also install HF266423.pkg to
apply a hotfix to correct a problem for the eUpdate feature of Virex.
|
You should configure Virex 7.7 to perform automatic updates via Virex's
eUpdate feature.
